Sponsor a Rider
Hippotherapy and Therapeutic Riding is generally not covered under most health insurance plans, and our riders need your support. Each lesson is generally $40.00 an hour. Each rider will usually ride and work with a horse for the one-hour and some parents will split a lesson with two children to save money. Most riders will participate once a week, while others ride every two weeks. Hearts in Halters is a non-profit organization and we work with everyone who wants to ride, but the cost of keeping Hearts in Halters running is substantial. Please consider sponsoring one of our riders for 1 session, 3 sessions, 10 sessions, or even a full year. We can not give you their names or any personal information, but we will send you basic information about your rider and their progress. We will select who receives your donation based on the financial needs of the riders. You will also receive a donation letter for tax purposes.

Our horse
Zan Buck Too “Buck” 27 year old Palomino gelding. We have retired him from the trail rides and now he gives the smaller children rides.
Lone Rocks Miss “Missy” 10 year old Palomino mare. Missy has become a mother just a few weeks ago.
Walnut Ridge Parker “Canaan” 12 year old gelding. Canaan is a mountain pleasure horse and was donated to us last year. He has more of a bounce to him and loves the attention.
Cantatrice Streak “ Streaker” 19 year old gelding. You can recognize Streaker by his floppy bottom lip.
Little Jack Wimpy “Jack” 8 year old Palomino gelding. Although young, Jack is a great horse and so friendly.
Pearl We named her after Minny Pearl . We rescued Pearl about 2 years ago. She was starved and skin and bones. She is great with the kids and gave most of our lesson last year.
Henry Santa brought Henry to our daughter and is one of the favorites around the farm. Henry is learning to pull a two-setter wagon and will soon give rides to children that can not get on a horse.
We have several other horses on the farm that participates with Hearts in Halters. Whether by rides or by letting people brush or bath the horses.
Many thanks,
Wade and Heather Cook
